Wow! Where did Summer go!! I just put my kids on the school bus yesterday for their first day of school. It seems like they just got out for Summer. RiCas Media Group has been very busy producing a series of new commercials with New York Sound and Motion for our client DiGiorgi Incorporated. We shot 3 new :30 second TV spots, all in HD. They look phenominal. Feedback from viewers has been amazing. Ed Brown and his crew at NYSM did an incredible job producing these spots. Check them out on my site. I believe we are the first local client to produce and air TRULY HIGH DEFINITION spots, not just spots that were converted after production by computer. It's late on the night of the Republican Primary, and unfortunately Mark Zydanowicz's bid for the Republican nod fell just a little short to his opponent. We fought a valiant, positive fight, it just wasn't quite enough to get us there. I can say though that I met some great new friends, and can honestly say that I really enjoyed myself and would love to work with more candidates producing TV and Radio spots, negotiating airtime, and arranging full service Direct Mail campaigns. We've been given an amazing opportunity to work with Mark Zydanowicz who is currently running for United States Congress in CT's 1st District. This has been an exciting, fast paced experience with a truly grass roots group of talented people. The pace reminds me of the 10 years I spent as a News Photographer at WFSB in Hartford. It has been very fun so far. We've managed to produce an excellent :30 second TV spot as well as a Radio spot. I was able to negotiate some phenominal schedules and managed to stretch the limited budget we had very far.

RiCas Media Group has been working day and night for the last 2 weeks with a client out of the Nashville area who has designed a structure that they believe will stop the flow of oil into the Gulf of Mexico and cap the pipe permanently, thereby stopping the thousands of barrels of oil currently gushing into the ocean everyday since April 20th. They've been attempting to contact anyone from BP that will listen, through both proper channels and through colleagues who have contacts inside BP, however they have been unable to garner any response. This disaster could very well end up being the worst enviromental disaster of our lifetimes. The lack of urgency from officials at BP at this point is very disturbing so RiCas Media has taken on this client in order to get their message out through the media. We are currently in communication with several major networks and hope to have the story hit the air early next week. We'll keep you posted as to our progress........

Wow, it's been a crazy 1st quarter. We've been extremely busy, (hence the lack of blog entries since January). It appears the Connecticut advertising market is beginning to get inundated with advertisers, many of which appear to be new to the Broadcast TV and Radio arena. For those of you who may be considering TV or Radio in the next several weeks, you need to get going fast!! Inventory is tightening up, and we haven't even hit the first 'Politcal Advertising' window of 2010 yet. With experts predicting that 2010 politcal advertising spending totals could be the highest on record, the inventory situation can only get tighter. I personally have experienced 2 past record setting political advertising seasons, so I know how the system works, so if any of you plan to put together an ad campaign in the near future, please let RiCas Media Group give you a hand.

Happy New Year!! Here's looking forward to a successful and prosperous 2010. We are working on some new and very exciting projects as well as working with our clients from 2009 to make 2010 even better. I have to say though, it's been tough getting anything done over these last two holiday weeks as most media reps are out on vacation enjoying time with family, We are looking forward to an extremely busy and intense 1st quarter!!

Merry Christmas!! I hope everyone is spending time with loved ones. I'm sorry it's been some time since I left a note. This past month has flown by! Things are very busy, not quite typical for the time of year. I hope this is a positive sign of things to come, hopefully the economy is beginning to turn for the better.

Well, here it is Friday night and we just got finished putting the finishing touches on the latest version of the website. As a hobby, I restore classic cars, (with a lot of help from my friends, you all know who you are!), and I've come to realize that building and maintaining a website is much the same. You can work really hard and get that car looking great for the upcoming Summer, however it's never quite finished. There are always several small details left to address. The same goes for this website, there will always be ways we can change it and tweak it and make it better, and we plan to do so as often as possible. Our goal is to have an extremely informative site that will show our clients and prospects that together we have the tools we need to make every marketing campaign a successful one.
